Circumstances surrounding COVID-19 are constantly evolving. FSS continues to closely monitor its impact and take precautionary measures aligned with the latest government guidance. The health, safety and well-being of our employees and clients is of the utmost importance, as is continuing to meet the needs of our clients.
We have enacted a variety of precautionary measures for our employees and followed government guidance so that under controlled conditions we can resume most of our business services.
FSS has implemented robust strategies to reduce the risk of contamination throughout our business services and is providing additional training for all its employees. FSS will continue to align our policies with guidance from the public health authority and will determine if additional policies are required based on what is best for our employees and the needs of our clients.
Clients are able to request copies of job-related risk assessments and method statements, all of which will be continually updated in line with the latest government guidance.
We recognise the enormous challenges being faced currently due to the COVID-19 outbreak. We are committed to supporting our clients during this time. We are proud to share our expert advice on best practices to support clients now and in the future when looking at re-occupancy of your premises.
Across the media we are seeing businesses gearing up through innovative solutions to reopen and provide services to their clients. Other businesses have remained open during this unprecedented time. We wish to remind clients that if their sites are open and staff are working on the premises then the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 does apply and their FRA needs to be up-to-date.
We would also like to take this opportunity to remind clients not to forget fire safety whilst implementing these measures. For example, initiating one-way systems and installing screens to isolate groups is good for preventing virus spread but there could be severe consequences if those same procedures and screens obstruct means of escape in the event of a fire.
In terms of occupancy numbers that take into account social distancing measures, remember that FSS can assist you with your occupancy calculations.
Of course, some clients will not be actively opening at this time and any client whose own assessment of risk concludes that contractors should not be on site will be respected by FSS. However, we would like to remind all clients that FSS is and has been throughout this crisis available for technical advice.
Our commitment remains steadfast to ensure the safety of our employees whilst delivering our services to our clients and we all must play a role if we are to stop the spread of this disease. We will continue to provide additional updates as this situation evolves.
